Paul has worked in the construction industry since 1967. He joined Woodward in 1970 working as a structural designer, estimator and project manager/executive on a wide range of project types. In 1987, Paul became President and CEO of Woodward Design+Build. During his tenure, Woodward has grown to become one of the largest design and construction organizations in the Gulf Coast Region with annual revenues in excess of $200,000,000. In 2004, Paul formed Woodward Interests, a real estate development company. He has been responsible for the development of several large commercial projects in the New Orleans area.
Paul earned a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech University in 1968. He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Engineering from Tulane University in 1975. Paul was named the De La Salle High School Alumnus of the Year in 2008. In 2010, he received the Science and Engineering Outstanding Service Alumnus Award from Tulane University, and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni Society.
Paul has a deep civic commitment to the City of New Orleans. He chaired a Peer Review of the Recovery School District’s two billion dollar School Building Program, focusing on program specifications and education standards. Former chair of the Business Council of New Orleans and River Region, as well as being the former chair of the Fireman’s Pension Fund Working Group. Paul is presently Chair of the Infrastructure Advisory Board for the Sewerage and Water Board. In addition, Paul and his wife Donna have set up a scholarship at Dillard University and an endowed professorship at Tulane University.
