Our Work

Tulane University MakerSpace

This design-build project for Tulane’s Department of Science and Engineering breathed new life into an original campus building that dates back to 1894.

The building was converted into the university’s “MakerSpace”, which now houses a machine shop, woodworking space, mezzanine classroom area and faculty office. Construction highlights include conversion of the existing mezzanine into study space, all new finishes and epoxy flooring, and the installation of a custom hanging bi-parting barn door with inset personnel access door. The construction team also had to account for the necessary mechanical and electrical provisions required for shop equipment such as lathes, saws, laser cutters, CNC milling machine and 3D printers
