Our Work

Metropolitan Gastroenterology Physician’s Office at EJGH

After a successful previous collaboration, an interior buildout in Ochsner Baptist Medical Center, Metropolitan Gastroenterology once again entrusted Woodward to provide architectural and construction services for their latest venture.

This design-build project, which yielded over 8,000 square feet of interior medical office space, is located inside East Jefferson General Hospital.

While this project was in the design phases, the COVID-19 pandemic reached Louisiana and led to our team incorporating additional design features to provide protection for patients and staff. Multiple nurse station pods were designed to maximize patient care, efficiency, and flow. Additionally, the design team integrated “sneeze guards” at reception desk and nurse stations.

The COVID-19 pandemic also posed some unique challenges during construction, since the project was located on an active, occupied floor of a medical office building. Woodward collaborated with the client and building landlord to create strict guidelines for a healthy working environment. Our field team’s adherence to these additional safety criteria ultimately led to our success. Construction was completed five weeks ahead of schedule.
