Joe Lantz, NCARB

Senior Architect

Joe is a registered Architect with over two decades of experience in the design and construction industries. His passion for architecture began early, rooted in his experiences growing up alongside his grandfather, a skilled carpenter. From helping construct family residences to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Joe’s hands-on exposure to building, combined with his artistic talents, naturally led him toward a career in architecture.

After earning his degree from LSU, Joe practiced in Seattle, Washington, where he worked on mixed-use projects that redefined urban spaces and contributed to the city’s vibrant architectural fabric. In 2011, he returned to Louisiana, where he further honed his expertise in historic renovation and rehabilitation, preserving the region’s rich architectural heritage while adapting structures for modern use.

Today, Joe is particularly passionate about advancing sustainable architecture. He is dedicated to designing buildings that not only integrate renewable energy sources like solar power and rainwater harvesting but also embrace intelligent systems that optimize resource use. His interest lies in creating environments that are both environmentally responsible and energy-efficient, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Joe’s design philosophy is grounded in contextual sensitivity and close collaboration with clients. He believes that every building should respect and complement its surroundings, considering local culture, history, and the natural environment. For Joe, successful architecture comes from a deep understanding of place and a commitment to creating spaces that enrich the lives of those who inhabit them.
