Blake is a Design Principal over Woodward Design Group and a registered Architect with over a decade of experience in architecture, design, and project management. A Louisiana native and graduate of LSU, Blake’s passion for design was ignited at a young age through his fascination with airplanes. He and his father would often visit the airport to watch the planes take off and land, returning home to sketch what they had observed. This early appreciation for art combined with the technical intricacies of flight sparked Blake’s enduring love for architecture.
Blake views architecture as a conduit for collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. His youthful, artistically driven approach to design is matched by a technical expertise that allows him to turn creative ideas into tangible, functional spaces. He thrives on engaging clients, consultants, and contractors as partners in the design process, believing that the best solutions arise when all voices are heard, and unique outcomes are crafted in response to each project’s specific needs.
With expertise across a broad spectrum of typologies and scales, Blake has served as Project Architect for a wide range of projects, including educational and laboratory spaces, performing arts centers, historic restorations, hospitality, sports and recreation facilities, and industrial projects. His notable works include the NOPSI Hotel conversion and restoration, the Isidore Newman School Science and Technology Center, Planet Fitness in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Tulane University’s Makerspace, and Laitram’s Wet Test and Fitness Center facilities.
Blake’s creative vision and leadership extend beyond his projects. He currently serves as President of the 2025 Board of the AIA New Orleans Chapter, where he continues to advocate for innovation and excellence in architecture.
