Honoring the Past, Serving the Present: 2515 Canal Street Wins Preservation Award

Woodward Design + Build is proud to celebrate the transformation of 2515 Canal Street—formerly the America Fore Insurance Building—into a modern, resilient healthcare facility for Crescent Care.

Woodward Design + Build is proud to celebrate the transformation of 2515 Canal Street—formerly the America Fore Insurance Building—into a modern, resilient healthcare facility for Crescent Care. This award-winning adaptive reuse project has been honored with a preservation award, recognizing our team’s commitment to both architectural integrity and contemporary community needs.

Originally designed in the 1950s by renowned architects Curtis & Davis, the building’s thoughtful renovation retains its modernist character while delivering advanced medical infrastructure and functionality. Partnering with AQ Studios, our team de-configure the structure into a multi-modal clinic, pharmacy, and community hub—while preserving key features such as the marble brise soleil, granite tile façade, and terrazzo flooring.

At Woodward, we bring deep expertise in building and renovating medical office and clinic space. This understanding guided our approach to every square foot of the project: integrating optimal patient flow, acoustic privacy, durable materials, and continuous power capability into the design. The result is a facility that enhances healthcare delivery while honoring the building’s architectural legacy.

With its new light-filled patient rooms, flexible clinical spaces, and expanded services, 2515 Canal Street stands as a model of what’s possible when preservation and purpose align. We are proud to have delivered a space that reflects Crescent Care’s mission—and to once again demonstrate our ability to deliver complex, mission-driven healthcare environments that serve communities for generations.
