CEO Paul Flower Honored at UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball
Woodward CEO Paul Flower was recently honored at the UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball.
The Mayor’s Masked Ball, an annual fundraiser for the UNCF, aims to raise awareness of the need and benefits of a college education, the students UNCF serves and the contributions of historically Black colleges and universities. Honored for their contributions to the community, Paul and fellow honoree Henry Coaxum join a prestigious class of past honorees which include Gayle Benson, Dr. Norman C. Francis, Ellis Marsalis and many others.
Paul’s peers in the community had some nice words to share about this honor. Former Superintendent of the Louisiana Recovery School District John White said, “I think Paul is really the the epitome of the notion that when you run a business in a community, you have a stake in the community.” Coleman Ridley, Jr, Former Managing Director of the Business Council of New Orleans and the River Region, described Paul as “not only a friend, he’s a trusted advisor, and I think in many ways he’s a mentor.”
